Benefits of Cacao:
1. It's rich in antioxidants and it contains natural chemicals called flavonoids, a type of antioxidant that promotes general health and lower the risk of several diseases
2. It has significant benefits for your cardiovascular system. It helps decrease oxidation of bad cholesterol
3. It decreases inflammation in your body that can contribute to arthritis and other diseases
Enough talking, now for the recipe:
What you need:
-1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats
-1/2 cup of almond milk(source of calcium)
-1/2 cup of coconut milk(source of vitamin D)
-1/2 a mashed banana
-1-2 medjool dates(or regular dates soaked over night in water)
-1 tablespoon of cacao powder
-A dash of cinnamon
Procedure:
-Bring the liquid to a boil of medium heat
-Bring the heat to medium-low and pour in the oats, mashed banana, and the chopped up dates
-Let it cook for 4-5 minutes stirring occasionally
-Then sprinkle the cinnamon and add the cacao powder and stir
-Turn the stove off and pour into a bowl and top it off with whatever you want!
